Chapter 1: Set-Up
In this chapter we look at the core considerations for setting up your iPad/iPhone.
You will be using the Settings button. It is the same for both an iPad and iPhone and looks like a grey wheel (see below).
The 3 key areas to remember when using your device are:
- Know your personal Apple ID/Password (write it down and keep it safe somewhere)
- Find your Wifi password (back of router)
- Don't slap the screen - tap it!
Below are some more tips to help you work through the settings on your iPad/iPhone.
CONNECTING TO THE WIFI
- Settings app
- Wifi (make sure the Wifi button is green)
- Search for your Wifi connection name
- Input password
- Connect to the internet
CHANGING BRIGHTNESS & TEXT
- Settings app
- Look for ‘Display and Brightness’ on the left hand side column
- Slide left or right for brightness
- Scroll down for text size
- Scroll left or right for text size
- Tap the home button to go back to the homepage
PASSWORDS & PERSONAL ID DETAILS
- Settings app
- Click on your name at the top
- Scroll down to update details
If there are any technical updates to your iPad/iPhone they will appear in red on this Settings app.
